Diffuszed Studios

Diffuszed Studios is a Recording Studio known for its creative & multifunction use in Woolloongabba.  Based primarily in audio and events, Diffuszed Studios has quickly become one of the staples of the Brisbane music scene.

The main room is a spacious 60 sqrms meaning it can be used for anything from producing music alone, to band rehearsals and even small scale events.  

The studio features a fully custom vocal booth separate from the main room, giving maximum isolation from the listening position.

Diffuszed Studios also has a breakout space to hang outside the main room.  This room contains a kitchenette, fridge, couches and access to our own toilet and shower. 

Diffuszed Studios has a strong connection with the wider creative arts community in Brisbane. Events feature performers from all the creative arts and foster an inclusive and supportive community.

Our Story

Diffuszed Studios was founded in 2014 by Johnny Ahern (Founder) while in his third year of his Audio Engineering degree. This space was fully sound treated, providing a professional sound. From that day forth Diffuszed Studios was born and Johnny mixed track for clients, building up his experience and portfolio of different genres and sounds.

In 2016 Johnny met Jai and they instantly connected over music and the studio. In 2018 Jai officially became a part owner of Diffuszed Studios providing complimentary skills to the studio.

In August 2019 the studio moved to its first commercial location in a room at Frequencies TV in Woolloongabba. This was the first time the studio included a dedicated vocal booth.

In 2020, their good friend Blair proposed The Brisbane Producer Meetup which was well received and is still running to this day.

In November 2021 the studio moved to its current location and was transformed from a warehouse loft to what it is today. Blair then joined the team to assist with events that were now possible in the new studio.

In december 2021 Blair officially became a part owner of Diffuszed Studios also providing complimentary skills to the studio.

Meet the Team

  • Founder, Owner/Operator, Head Engineer, Band Specialist

    Johnny Ahern

    (Founder, Owner/Operator, Head Engineer, Music Producer, Band Specialist)

    Johnny is the original Founder of Diffuszed Studios. He first started playing music in Punk & Rock bands growing up and eventually decided to study Audio Engineering at SAE in 2012.

    Johnny runs the music programs for the YMCA in North Lakes & Mango Hill. This is a music enrichment program for high school students.

    As the Head Engineer, Johnny handles our Recording, Mixing, Mastering and Music Production lessons.

    Johnny is currently a Music Producer/Artist (Diffuszed) and is the Bass player with Sabrina Lawrie alt punk band Burnt Trash.

    Jai King Koi

    (Owner/Operator, Music Industry Consultant, Music Producer, Events & Marketing, DJ Specialist)

    Jai became part of Diffuszed Studios in 2018 to help with operations and marketing. Jai Started playing Trumpet & singing at age 8. He Has been DJing for over 14 years and in that time has gathered a broad range of knowledge within the Music and Entertainment Industry.

    Jai is an avid podcast host and producer. He has developed several of his own Podcasts as well as hosting for other brands.

    As the Resident DJ, Jai handles our DJ lesson, Consults and Music Production lessons.

    Jai is currently a working DJ, Music Producer/Artist (Boi King Koi) and a host (Founder) on The NFT Project (Podcast).

  • Owner/Operator, Events & Marketing, Administration, Live looping Specialist, Not a Leprechaun

    Blair Wright

    (Owner/Operator, Music Producer, Events/Marketing, Live Loops/Electronica Specialist, Festival Industry Consultant)

    Blair joined the Diffuszed Studios team in 2021, assisting in event operations, and administration. As a Festival child, Blair’s passion for music, drove him through a Bachelor of Entertainment at JMC (2012).

    A decade later and Blairs music has seen him perform, DJ, host workshops and organise events throughout Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US.

    Blair offers a unique insight into festivals and applications, and handles event operations, Ableton Lessons, and community engagement at Diffuszed Studios.

    Blair is a Music Producer/DJ (BlairWave), Live Electronica artist (B-Syde), and Founder of Festive Collective (Arts Community).

Diffuszed Community

Diffuszed Community was created to provide a place where everyone can share and contribute to the amazing community that has formed around the studio and the events. The community is based as a facebook group where people can share music, art, events, collaborations and simply connect with others within the community.
